Nagpur Man Defrauded on Pretext of Securing Job for Son at Koradi Power Plant

Nagpur: A resident of Mankapur fell victim to a job scam, losing ₹1.83 lakh between February and October 2024.
The complainant, Nilakchand Tandekar, was approached by Rajat Gupta, who claimed to be a security officer at Koradi Power Plant. Gupta promised to secure a job for Tandekar’s son in exchange for money.
Between February 18, 2024, and October 23, 2024, Tandekar transferred ₹1,67,900 through Google Pay and ₹15,100 in cash. Gupta handed over a fake appointment letter, which was exposed during verification. When Tandekar demanded his money back, Gupta threatened him.
Mankapur Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter further.
