Nagpur: A dramatic incident unfolded at Jaripatka Police Station on Tuesday when an accused in a burglary case reportedly stabbed himself while in police custody. The accused had been arrested in connection with a housebreaking incident at Bezonbagh.

According to sources, the incident occurred between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. when the accused allegedly found a knife within the police station premises and used it to inflict self-harm. The episode has caused a stir in the police department, raising concerns over security lapses within the station.

The injured accused was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical treatment. His condition remains unknown, and further updates in the case are awaited.

Meanwhile, authorities have launched an inquiry to investigate how the accused managed to access a weapon inside the police station.
