Nagpur: The Zone 4 Police, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rashmita Rao N (IPS), conducted a special drive against motorcycle riders using modified loud silencers here, on Tuesday, December 7. This action was initiated as part of the Police Raising Day Week.

In this operation, police stations across the Zone 4 targeted motorcycles with excessively loud silencers, which caused a nuisance in public spaces. A total of 41 offenders were penalized during the drive.

The modified silencers were confiscated and destroyed under a road roller at the dumping yard in Bhandevadi under the jurisdiction of Wathoda Police Station. DCP Rashmita Rao and senior officers from all concerned police stations were present during the operation.

Additionally, DCP Rao has issued directives to all station in-charges in Zone 4 to continue strict action against:

• Motorcycles with loud silencers

• Vehicles without registration plates

• Four-wheelers with black-tinted films

• Vehicles violating traffic rules

The police have urged citizens to refrain from using modified silencers or engaging in any traffic violations that could cause inconvenience to the public. Offenders will face stricter legal action in the future.

The drive aims to ensure smoother traffic movement and reduce noise pollution, contributing to better public safety in the city.
