Nagpur: A fake appointment letter claiming to designate an individual as a Forest Guard (Group-C) in Maharashtra’s Forest Department has surfaced on social media, causing concern.
The letter, falsely bearing the official letterhead of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Head of Forest Force), Maharashtra State, Nagpur, was allegedly issued in the name of Chetan Mohan Jadhav from Yavatmal. The fraudulent document has been widely circulated on social media and WhatsApp.
The Forest Department has clarified that no such appointment order was issued from their headquarters at Van Bhavan, Ramgiri Road, Civil Lines, Nagpur. Officials suspect the document was created with the intent to defraud the individual, labeling it as a clear case of forgery.
In response, the Deputy Conservator of Forests (Human Resource Management), Nagpur, has filed a formal complaint with Sadar Police Station, Nagpur, seeking a detailed investigation and strict action against the perpetrators.
The Forest Department has urged residents of Nagpur and Maharashtra to be cautious and vigilant against such scams. Citizens are advised to verify any official correspondence directly with the concerned department and avoid sharing personal details without proper authentication.
