Crime Branch Unit 5 Solves Housebreaking and Vehicle Theft Cases in Nagpur

Nagpur: The Unit 5 of Nagpur Crime Branch has cracked a housebreaking case along with two vehicle thefts. Two including a juvenile delinquent have been rounded up by cops in this connection. 


According to police sources, between November 25, 11:00 a.m. and November 27, 10:30 a.m., unidentified burglars broke into the house of Suraj Kisan Janbandhu, a 45-year-old resident of Plot No. 1340, Bezonbagh. The accused gained entry through the back door and stole valuables worth ₹2.85 lakh, including ₹1.8 lakh in cash and gold jewelry, from an iron cupboard. A case under sections 305(a), 331(3), and 331(4) of the BNS was registered at Jaripatka Police Station.


The Crime Branch Unit 5 apprehended Prajwal Vishal Shende (22), a resident of Kasturba Nagar, Jaripatka, and a juvenile accomplice based on technical evidence and reliable intelligence. Shende confessed to committing the burglary along with his accomplice. 


He also admitted to vehicle thefts in the Nandanvan and Yashodhara Nagar areas. Authorities recovered two two-wheelers and gold and silver ornaments worth ₹2.69 lakh. The accused and the recovered items were handed over to Jaripatka Police for further investigation.


This operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal and senior officers, including DCP Rahul Maknikar, ACP Abhijit Patil, and PI Rahul Shire. The investigative team included officers like Tapplulal Chute, Raju Rathod, and others.
