Nagpur: A 58-year-old man succumbed to injuries sustained in a hit-and-run incident in Koradi on January 3. The accident occurred near Mahadula T-point, where an unidentified driver of a grey Alto car struck the pedestrian and fled the scene.

The victim, Vijay Babulal Malaviya, was walking outside his home near the HDFC ATM when the speeding car hit him around 10 pm. Malaviya fell to the ground and suffered critical injuries. He was admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for treatment but passed away on January 8 at 11:45 am.

Based on a complaint by his son, Sumit Vijay Malaviya (26), Koradi Police have registered a case against the unknown driver under BNS Sections 106(1), 281, and Sections 134 and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Efforts are on to identify and apprehend the accused.
