Nagpur: A tragic accident at a brick kiln in Suradevi, Koradi, claimed the life of a two-year-old girl on Thursday, January 8. The incident occurred when the driver of a reversing car hit the child, causing fatal injuries.

According to police, Arun Baisakhu Uike (25), a brick kiln worker residing at the site with his wife and daughter, was working alongside his wife while their daughter, Sadhana, played nearby. Around 2:30 pm, the driver, identified as Rajesh Harku (35), was reversing a car (MH 49 CD 9971) when he negligently struck the child with the car’s bonnet. The toddler fell and sustained severe injuries.

She was rushed to Mayo Hospital for treatment but was declared dead on arrival.

Following a complaint by Uike, Koradi Police have registered a case against the driver under BNS Sections 106(1), 281, and Sections 134 and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Further investigation is underway.
