Nagpur: In a significant breakthrough, Crime Branch Unit 5 of Nagpur Police has solved a housebreaking case reported in Hinganghat. Acting on reliable information, the police apprehended a suspect in Vinoba Bhave Nagar under the jurisdiction of Yashodhara Nagar Police Station.
During patrolling, the team detained a suspicious individual who identified himself as Pankaj Banduji Satramwar (24), a resident of Galli No. 1, Vita Bhatti Chowk, Yashodhara Nagar, Nagpur. Upon further questioning, Satramwar confessed to committing a housebreaking crime on October 31, 2024, between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM in collaboration with an accomplice, Harsh Chotu Dehriya, a resident of Shantinagar, Nagpur.
The accused revealed that the stolen items, including gold jewelry, were sold to a jeweler. The investigation confirmed the complaint lodged by Suresh Shriramji Dhongde (47), a resident of Shahlangdi Road, Sant Dnyaneshwar Ward, Hinganghat, at the Hinganghat Police Station. The stolen property, consisting of gold ornaments valued at approximately ₹35,000, was recovered from the accused.
The apprehended suspect and the recovered items have been handed over to Hinganghat Police for further investigation.
This successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sanjay Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Rahul Makhnikar, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Abhijit Patil.
The operation was executed by Police Inspector Rahul Shire, Assistant Police Inspector Rahul Rote, and police personnel Tappulal Chute, Pramod Bawane, Vishal Nagbhide, Devchand Thote, and Roshan Tandulkar.
