Jewellery Worth ₹3.14 Lakh Stolen from Ganeshpeth Bus Stand in Nagpur

Nagpur: Ganeshpeth Police have booked an unknown thief for stealing gold and silver jewelry worth approximately ₹3.14 lakh from a 59-year-old jeweler at Ganeshpeth Bus Stop here, on December 3.


The complainant, Anandrao Marotirao Tibe, a resident of Shiregaon Bandh, Sanagadi, Arjuni Morgoan, Gondia, had come to Nagpur for his jewelry work and was preparing to return to his village. Around 5:00 PM to 5:05 PM, he arrived at the bus stand, and amid the crowd, placed his black handbag on a seat by the window. After boarding the bus, he noticed the bag’s chain was open. Upon checking, he found that the thief had stolen gold jewelry, including bangles, a chain, a medal, a ring, and ₹6,000 in cash.


The total estimated loss amounts to ₹3.14 lakh.


Ganeshpeth Police Station registered a case under Section 303(2) of the BNS. Investigations are ongoing.
