Nagpur: In a significant step towards ensuring safety and modernization, Central Railway Nagpur Division has successfully removed 45 M.S. Lattice Towers that had become obsolete over time.

These towers, installed more than 40 years ago at important locations such as Amla, Junardev, Wardha, Ballarshah, Tadali, Ajni, and Nagpur Yard, were primarily used for yard lighting but had deteriorated significantly, posing potential safety hazards.

Under the leadership of Manish Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, Nagpur, the removal of these towers was undertaken as part of the division's broader efforts to modernize infrastructure and secure train operations.

The project was carefully planned and executed under the supervision of Smt. Pratibha Gupta, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (General), Nagpur. The coordination of power blocks for Traffic Power and Overhead Equipment (OHE) ensured minimal disruption to train schedules during the operation.

This achievement was made possible through the collective efforts of a dedicated team.

Sanjeev S. Mankar, Assistant Divisional Electrical Engineer (General), Nagpur, and Nemchand Shreevas, Chief Office Superintendent (Electrical), Nagpur, played crucial roles in planning and execution. Their efforts were supported by a skilled team of supervisors and staff, including Prakash Chaudhary, Vinod Kumar, Y.P. Sahu, Rakesh Moon, Akhilesh Dubey, and others, who ensured the operation was completed safely and on time.

The removal of these towers has significantly enhanced safety along the railway network by eliminating potential risks posed by the aging structures. This initiative also reflects the division’s commitment to modernizing its infrastructure to meet increasing traffic demands while maintaining the highest standards of operational efficiency.

The Central Railway Nagpur Division remains focused on continuous improvement, with plans to replace or upgrade outdated facilities as part of its commitment to ensuring a robust, safe, and efficient railway network for the future.
