Nagpur: Crime Branch Unit 5 of Nagpur Police successfully solved two vehicle theft cases, recovering stolen motorcycles and apprehending two suspects in separate operations.
Theft of Honda Shine Motorcycle
On August 28, 2019, complainant Rajendra Singh Colonel Singh Jagde (24), a resident of Baba Jagdeep Singh Nagar, Uppalwadi, Nagpur, reported the theft of his Honda Shine motorcycle (MH 49 S 1933) worth ₹20,000. The vehicle was stolen from a parking spot near Jagde Motors, Naka No. 5, Petrol Pump, within the jurisdiction of Kalamna Police Station.
During patrolling, officers of Crime Branch Unit 5 identified a suspicious individual under the Mekosabagh Bridge in the Jaripatka area. Upon questioning, the suspect identified himself as Vishal Ashok Gajbhiye (28), a resident of Ashok Nagar, Kanhan, Nagpur. His inconsistent responses prompted further interrogation, during which he confessed to the theft. The stolen Honda Shine motorcycle was recovered from his possession. The accused, along with the recovered vehicle, has been handed over to Kalamna Police Station for further investigation.
Theft of Hero Honda Passion Pro Motorcycle
In another incident, officers noticed a suspicious individual on a red, numberless Hero Honda Passion Pro motorcycle near the Mekosabagh Hutching School in the Jaripatka area. The suspect, identified as Shubham Dnyaneshwar Wankhede (29), a resident of Sadgurusharan Society, Dattawadi, Nagpur, admitted to stealing the motorcycle (MH 31 VS 0091) worth ₹20,000. The theft occurred on October 31, 2024, near Vikas Nagar, Lichade Layout, close to Shitla Mata Temple, under the jurisdiction of Wadi Police Station.
The stolen motorcycle was recovered, and the suspect, along with the vehicle, was handed over to Wadi Police Station.
These operations were carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sanjay Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Rahul Makhnikar, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Abhijit Patil.
The team comprised PI Rahul Shire, API Rahul Rote, and police personnel Rajendra Taklikar, Rupesh Nanwatkar, Tappulal Chute, Rajusing Rathod, Chandrashekhar Gautam, Ganesh Thakre, Pramod Bawane, Anis Khan, Pravin Bhagat, Devchand Thote, Sunil Yadav, Deepak Bawankar, Yogesh Mahajan, and Ashish Pawar.
