Nagpur: Lakadganj Police arrested a 24-year-old man from Wardha for illegal possession of a knife near Irfan Pan Shop in Ganga Jamuna area on January 28.
According to police, during routine patrolling around 4:30 PM, police noticed a man in a black shirt and white pants trying to flee upon seeing them. After a brief chase, he was apprehended, and a sharp iron knife worth ₹200 was recovered from his possession.
The accused was identified as Sanket Gulabrao Nil (24) from Wagholi, Hinganghat, Wardha.
A case was registered against him under Sections 4 and 25 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act for carrying a deadly weapon and violating prohibitory orders.
Police have taken the accused into custody, and further investigation is underway.
