Nagpur: Jaripatka Police apprehended a 25-year-old man for carrying a deadly weapon and threatening the public near Nara Ghat. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. January 29, Wednesday, during a police patrolling operation.
According to reports, the accused, identified as Avinash Laxman Ragase, a resident of Mandwa Vasti near Bhim Sena Slum, Jaripatka, was wielding a sharp iron knife and verbally abusing passersby. Upon seeing the police, the accused attempted to flee but was captured after a chase.
The police seized an iron knife worth ₹200 from his possession. A case was registered at Jaripatka Police Station under Section 4/25 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The accused was subsequently taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
