Nagpur: Former Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) MLA Prakash Gajbhiye, who sustained a serious head injury during a visit to Srinagar, is now in stable condition. He is expected to be transferred to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai soon for further treatment.
The incident occurred on January 24, 2025, when Gajbhiye, who was vacationing in Srinagar with his family, slipped and fell, causing a severe head injury. He was rushed to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Soura district, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and placed on a ventilator.
Upon learning of the incident, former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh immediately contacted Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for assistance. Additionally, MP Supriya Sule also reached out to Abdullah, requesting the best possible medical care for Gajbhiye.
On Tuesday, Gajbhiye regained consciousness, and doctors removed him from the ventilator. His condition is now stable, and he continues to receive treatment at SKIMS ICU. Authorities have confirmed that arrangements are being made to transfer him to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for further specialized care.
