Nagpur: A reckless driving incident on the Jabalpur-Hyderabad Bypass Highway claimed one life and left another critically injured. The incident occurred near Tarodi bridge within the jurisdiction of Pardi Police Station.
The victims, Pramod Vasantrao Renge (44) and his friend Harish Bhimrao Gajbhiye (42), were riding an Activa scooter when a speeding truck (MH 36 AL 0115) struck them from behind on Friday, January 17 evening. While Renge sustained multiple fractures, Gajbhiye suffered a fatal head injury and succumbed during treatment at a hospital.
The truck driver, identified as Khushal Dadaji Darve (26), has been apprehended. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS and Motor Vehicle Act. Further investigation is underway.
