Nagpur: The Social Security Branch (SSB) of Crime Branch has successfully solved a house burglary and a vehicle theft case in the city, recovering stolen items worth ₹1.48 lakh here, on Tuesday, February 4.
The accused have been identified as Amol Chandrashekhar Chapekar (26) from Chandmari, Wathoda, and Kunal Dhanraj Mangate (34) from Bharatwada.
Based on a tip-off, the police apprehended the duo near Chandmari and seized two Activa scooters (MH 49-CK-5726 and MH 40-CV-0424) worth ₹1.10 lakh, 15 tolas of silver ornaments worth ₹12,400, two T-Series speakers, Noise earbuds worth ₹13,500, four HP gas cylinders worth ₹8,000, and a Dell laptop valued at ₹15,000.
Following interrogation, the accused confessed to the crimes. The recovered items have been handed over to Nandanvan Police Station for further investigation. Authorities are now probing the suspects’ involvement in other theft cases.
