Nagpur: Man Arrested in Nandanvan for Extortion Threat Over Alcohol

Nagpur: Nandanvan police have apprehended a man accused of extortion and issuing death threats to a senior citizen seeking money for liquor. The incident occurred on March 31 at around 8:00 PM in Sadbhavana Nagar, Nagpur.


According to the complaint filed by Syed Hussain Mohammad Naqvi (68), the accused, identified as Armaan Malik (32), approached him outside his residence and demanded money for alcohol. When Naqvi refused, Malik allegedly hurled abuses and threatened him, saying, “If you want to stay alive, you must give me ₹10,000, or I will kill you.” He then forcibly snatched ₹200 from Naqvi’s pocket and fled the scene.


Following the complaint, Nandanvan police registered a case under BNS Sections 309(4), 296, and 351(3) and launched a search operation. The accused was later apprehended, and further investigation is underway.
