Nagpur: The Nagpur Division of Central Railway has achieved a significant milestone in catering earnings and food safety, surpassing financial targets and reinforcing passenger service standards.

Record-Breaking Growth in Catering Earnings:

• March 2025 Earnings: The division recorded ₹57.25 lakh in catering earnings, marking a 59% increase compared to March 2024.

• Annual Earnings: Total earnings for FY 2024-25 stood at ₹9.57 crore, surpassing the target by 9% and last year’s earnings by 14%.

• New Contracts Awarded: 19 new catering contracts worth ₹9.45 crore were awarded to enhance food services across railway stations.

Strengthening Food Safety and Legal Compliance:

• ‘Eat Right Station’ Certification: Seven stations in the division received this prestigious recognition for maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.

• Legal Success: The division secured five favorable court verdicts, reinforcing its commitment to lawful operations.

Enhanced Monitoring and Vendor Regulations:

• 975 inspections were conducted on static catering units to ensure food quality compliance.

• 832 inspections were carried out on mobile catering units for food safety and service excellence.

• 4,235 unauthorised vendors were prosecuted, highlighting stringent action against illegal catering activities.
