Nagpur: A 40-year-old man tragically died after suffering an electric shock while fishing near a stream in Hingna taluka of Nagpur district.

The deceased has been identified as Sadashiv Namdev Madavi, a resident of Kinhi village under Vyahad police station limits. The incident occurred on May 1, 2026, at around 8:00 AM, when Madavi had gone to a nearby stream adjacent to his village for fishing.

According to reports, he accidentally came into contact with an electric current, which caused him to lose balance and fall into the water. He was found unconscious and was immediately pulled out by locals. He was rushed to the Government Medical Hospital, where doctors examined him and declared him dead.

Based on the complaint filed by Akash Ruparao Uike (33), also a resident of Kinhi, Police Constable Sachin Ingale registered a case of accidental death at Hingna Police Station. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
