Crime Branch Unit 3 Cracks Shop Burglary Case in Nagpur, Arrests Three Youths Linked to Five Crimes

Nagpur: In a significant breakthrough, Crime Branch Unit 3 of Nagpur Police has arrested three accused involved in a shop burglary and uncovered a total of five criminal cases linked to them.


The complainant, Pankaj Madhukar Binekar (37), a resident of Netaji Nagar in Kalamna, Nagpur, owns a shop located within his residential plot. Between 11:00 PM on April 28 and 7:00 AM on April 29, unidentified thieves broke the shutter lock of his shop and stole ₹46,500 in cash from the counter.


Based on his complaint, Kalamna Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against unknown persons.


During parallel investigations, Crime Branch Unit 3 officials used technical

analysis and credible intelligence to identify and detain three suspects:

  • Mohammad Dilshad Safar Ansari (23)
  • Vivek alias Vicky Yuvraj Dhote (23)
  • Piyush alias Guddu Deepak Nimje (20)

All three residents of Yashodhara Nagar, Nagpur, confessed to committing the crime in collusion.


Further interrogation revealed their involvement in four additional crimes, including a house burglary under Kotwali Police Station limits and vehicle thefts in Nandanvan, Yashodhara Nagar, and Jaripatka areas.


Police recovered cash worth ₹2,780, an e-rickshaw (MH 49 CX 0233), and two Activa mopeds (MP 20 SK 9935 and MH 49 K 9835), totaling ₹1,43,780 in seized property. The accused have been handed over to Kalamna Police for further action, and investigation is ongoing.


The operation was conducted under the guidance of senior Nagpur Police officials, including the Police Commissioner and Crime Branch leadership.
