Nagpur: In a swift operation, Imamwada police detained a man for carrying a sharp weapon with possible criminal intent. The arrest took place between 7:10 PM and 7:40 PM on March 31 near Jattarodi Chowk, close to Shiv Bhojanalay.

A patrolling team received a tip-off about a suspect brandishing a weapon in the area. Upon reaching the location, police spotted the suspect, who attempted to flee. However, he was quickly chased down and apprehended.

The accused was identified as Rahul alias Sonu Bhimrao Mhaiskar (40), a resident of Jattarodi No. 1, near Corporation School, Imamwada, Nagpur. A search in the presence of witnesses led to the seizure of a sharp iron knife worth ₹200 from his possession.

Since he was found carrying the weapon with criminal intent and in violation of prohibitory orders, police registered a case against him under Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. Further investigation is ongoing.
