Nagpur: A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against a 30-year-old man following the tragic death of a woman in New Kamptee. 

According to police, the victim, Piyusha Ranglal Yelekar (28), a resident of Plot No. 40, Devnagar, near Bhoyar Polytechnic, took her own life by hanging herself at her residence on December 29, 2024, around 5:30 PM.

Investigations revealed that Piyusha was in a relationship with the accused, Sagar Raju Karande, a resident of Shivnagar, Tarasi Road, Kanhan. Allegedly, the accused refused to marry the victim despite maintaining a relationship with her, which led her to take the drastic step.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father, Ranglal Sahadev Yelekar (54), New Kamptee Police Station has registered a case against the accused under Section 108 of the BNS. Further investigation is ongoing.
