Nagpur: Ajni Police arrested a suspect on Sunday, January 19, for possession of MD powder, following a raid at Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH).
Acting on credible information, police set up a trap near GMCH’s Eye Department, where they detained Prashant Vishram Chute (34), who was traveling on an Activa scooter (MH 49 S 5877). A search led to the discovery of 4.23 grams of MD powder in a ziplock pouch. Along with the MD powder, the police seized a mobile phone and the scooter, with the total value of the recovered items amounting to ₹78,500.
Chute admitted to bringing the MD powder for sale, intending to make a profit. A case has been filed under sections 8 (c) and 22 (b) of the NDPS Act. The accused was arrested, and the police continue with further investigations.
