Nagpur: In a peculiar incident, on Wednesday, January 8, an overloaded truck carrying sand sank into the road at Hasanbagh Square on Wednesday, disrupting traffic for several hours.

The truck (MH40/BL9334), reportedly transporting sand for construction work, was crossing Hasanbagh Square when its rear tires suddenly caved into the weakened road surface. The mishap created a significant traffic jam, drawing a crowd of onlookers who captured the unusual scene on their phones.

To address the situation, a JCB machine was brought in to extract the truck and clear the road. Local residents expressed concern over the incident, attributing it to the overloaded truck and poor road conditions.

The authorities have yet to comment on the cause of the road collapse, but the incident highlights the need for stricter enforcement of vehicle weight limits and improved road maintenance.
