Nagpur: Sitabuldi Police have registered a case against the driver of a Polo car involved in a fatal accident that claimed the life of a 76-year-old man walking on Amravati Road on Monday.

According to police, on October 14, 2024, at around 7:30 PM, Kachrulal Kotriwar, a resident of Plot No. 409, VIP Road, Dharampeth, was walking as part of his routine near the RTO office on Amravati Road. While crossing the road, he was struck by a speeding white Polo car (MH 40 CA 5060), which was being driven recklessly.

The driver fled the scene after the collision, leaving Kotriwar seriously injured.

Passersby, including a nearby auto driver, rushed the injured man to New Dande Hospital in Ravi Nagar for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he was declared dead at 2:51 AM on October 15, 2024.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s son, Ajay Kachrulal Kotriwar (41), Sitabuldi Police have registered a case against the Polo car driver under Sections 279 and 304A of the BNS, along with Sections 184 and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The investigation is ongoing.
