Nagpur: In preparation for the upcoming Maharashtra State Assembly elections scheduled for November 20, 2024, and the subsequent vote counting on November 23, 2024, the state police administration has announced the cancellation of leaves for its officers and personnel.
To maintain peace and prevent any untoward incidents during the election period, a directive has been issued by Dr. Chhering Dorje, Special Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) and State Police Coordination Officer for the Maharashtra Assembly General Elections 2024. The directive cancels all leaves for police officers and personnel, except for medical leave, from November 15 to November 25, 2024. This move aims to strengthen security arrangements across the state and provide adequate manpower for deployment during the election period.
Senior officials have been advised not to grant any leave, other than for medical reasons, to their subordinates during this crucial timeframe.
