Nagpur: In a significant operation, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Crime Branch successfully traced and rescued a 17-year-old girl who had gone missing from the Yashodharanagar area. The girl, who disappeared on October 5, 2023, without informing her family, was found in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, along with a 21-year-old man.
According to police, the minor’s father had lodged a complaint at the Yashodharanagar police station, stating that his daughter had been abducted by an unidentified person. Following this, a case was registered under Section 363 of the Indian Penal Code.
During a parallel investigation, officers and personnel of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit utilized technical analysis and gathered intelligence, which led them to Banda, Uttar Pradesh. The girl was located at the residence of one Ramkesh Munna Gupta, aged 21, a resident of Zoravar Pur, Banda district.
Both individuals were taken into custody and questioned. After being counseled, the minor and the accused were handed over to Yashodharanagar Police for further legal action.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Patil, and DCP (Detection) Rahul Makhnikar. The team was led by Senior Inspector Lalita Todase, with along with Rajendra Atkale, Gajendra Singh Thakur, Sunil Wakde, Shyam Anguthlewar, Deepak Bindane, Sharif Sheikh, Rishi Dumre, Vilas Chinchulkar, Narendra Shingne, and Ashwini Khodpewar and Pallavi Wanjari.
