Nagpur: Unidentified thieves targeted a locked house in Jaydurga Nagar, Bhandewadi, under jurisdiction of Pardi Police Station, while the residents were away celebrating Diwali.
The burglary occurred between 5:00 pm on November 16 and 8:30 am on November 20, when the complainant, Ganpati Shriramji Dyare, aged 52, had locked his house and traveled with his family to Aptur in Umred Taluka for the festival.
The burglars broke the lock and latch of the main door to gain entry and stole gold jewelry along with ₹30,000 in cash from an iron cupboard. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be ₹2.38 lakh.
Based on a complaint filed by Dyare, the Pardi Police have registered a case against unidentified suspects under Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4) of the BNS.
