Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, the Crime Branch Unit 5 of Nagpur Police has solved the murder case of property dealer reported under Kapil Nagar Police Station limits and apprehended eight accused, including a woman, in connection with the crime. The murder was allegedly executed over a long-standing land dispute involving an 11-acre plot in Nari.
The victim, Ankush Ramaji Kadu (54), a resident of Guru Tegbahadur Nagar, Nari Road, was a property dealer operating under the name R.K. Builders and Developers. On April 19, 2025, at around 5:45 PM, while he was passing near Mhada Chowk, Amrapali Apartment, Nari Road, on his two-wheeler, he was brutally attacked with a sharp weapon by unidentified assailants. He was rushed to Max Hospital, Mankapur, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Based on a complaint lodged by his son, Prathamesh Ankush Kadu (25), Kapil Nagar Police registered a case under Sections 103(1), 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant sections of the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act.
During investigation, Crime Branch Unit 5 officers conducted a technical analysis and acted on credible intelligence inputs. The probe revealed that the victim was entangled in a court dispute with Sangeeta Gopichand Sahare regarding an 11-acre land parcel in Nari. It was found that Sangeeta Sahare, her son Akash Sahare, and their business partner Ashok alias Lala Mishra allegedly conspired to eliminate Kadu.
They reportedly offered Rs 15 lakh in cash, a four-wheeler, and legal expenses to prime accused Rahul Sunil Wagh (32), a resident of Vijay Nagar, Kalamna, through their driver Ashwin Kholde. Wagh then roped in his associates — Rajesh alias Raja alias Raju Bokade (30), Vilas Bhagwandas Nandanwar (39), Dhananjay alias Shivam alias Subham Kathekar (19), all residents of Kalamna — along with four juveniles in conflict with law, to execute the murder.
Based on the findings, police arrested all eight accused Rahul Sunil Wagh (32), Rajesh alias Raja alias Raju Waman Bokade (30), Vilas Bhagwandas Nandanwar (39), Dhananjay alias Shivam alias Subham Kathekar (19), Sangeeta Gopichand Sahare (50), Akash Gopichand Sahare (34), Ashwin Bhaskar Kholde (25) and Ashok alias Lala Dinesh Mishra (55) All are residents of Maitri Colony, Nari Road, Nagpur.
