Nagpur: New Kamptee Police, led by Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Andhale, apprehended a 25-year-old man within 24 hours for allegedly attempting to sexually assault a woman by taking advantage of her being alone at home. The chargesheet in the case was promptly filed in court within a day of the arrest.
As per the complaint filed by the victim, the accused—identified as Ravindra Manik Bhoyar, a resident of Godegaon, Tehsil Parseoni, District Nagpur—entered her house and attempted to outrage her modesty. During the incident, he allegedly assaulted her and bit her near the thumb of her right palm.
Based on her report, a case was registered at New Kamptee Police Station under Sections 74, 333, and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as CR No. 192/25.
Following a detailed investigation using technical and conventional methods, the police team apprehended the accused on April 22, 2025, at 10:52 PM. The chargesheet was filed in the court of the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Kamptee, within 24 hours of the arrest.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, Additional CP (North) Pramod Shewale, DCP Zone 5 Niketan Kadam, ACP (Kamptee) S.M. Bandewar, and Senior PI Mahesh Andhale. The investigation team included PSI Sachin Yadav, PSI Vikas Tidke, PSI Srishti Kadam, WPC Dipti Motghare, WPC Sangita Pal, WPC Minal Gorad, WPC Laxmi Hadke, PC Avinash Londe, and PC Manoj Gajbhiye.
