Nagpur: In a bold move aimed at enforcing accountability, Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal conducted a surprise inspection at MIDC Police Station at 6 PM on Wednesday, April 23. During the visit, he thoroughly reviewed the functioning of the station and personally interacted with complainants to understand their concerns.
The Commissioner issued clear instructions to all officers and personnel, emphasizing that complaints must be addressed with urgency and sensitivity. However, the visit uncovered serious lapses in discipline and attendance.
It was brought to Dr. Singal’s attention that several police personnel had submitted sick leave applications without valid reasons and were absent from duty without submitting any medical documentation. An immediate inquiry revealed that these officers had intentionally misused sick leave to avoid responsibilities, especially at a time when manpower is crucial for maintaining law and order in the city.
Taking swift action, Commissioner Singal ordered the immediate suspension of three police sub-inspectors:
1. Nisha Dilip Gawali
2. Mahesh Shivaji Pawar
3. Vaishali Keshavrao Solanke
The Police Commissioner stated that such indifference to duty will not be tolerated, especially when the city demands full operational strength to uphold public safety. He issued a stern warning that any future negligence or dereliction of duty will invite strict disciplinary action.
Dr. Singal reiterated that every police officer must perform their duties with integrity and dedication, and the force cannot afford carelessness during crucial times.
