Nagpur: In a commendable display of alertness and compassion, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Nagpur rescued a differently-abled minor boy under its ongoing initiative ‘Operation Nanhe Farishte’. The incident took place around 12:00 PM on April 23, 2025, near the two-wheeler parking area adjacent to Platform No. 1 at Nagpur Railway Station.

An on-duty lady RPF constable noticed the child loitering alone in a suspicious condition and promptly approached him. Upon interaction, she discovered that the boy was unable to speak or hear, suggesting he may be hearing and speech impaired. Understanding the child’s vulnerable state, she immediately escorted him to the RPF post for safety and further care.

Following standard rescue protocols, the RPF contacted the Childline team, who arrived at the post shortly after. Despite efforts to communicate, the child could not provide any information about his identity or address.

After completing all necessary formalities under the framework of ‘Operation Nanhe Farishte’, the minor was safely handed over to Childline Nagpur representatives for proper care, protection, and rehabilitation.

The RPF Nagpur’s swift and sensitive response underscores Central Railway’s unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of children, particularly those with special needs, across its network.
