Nagpur: Sakkardara Police apprehended a 23-year-old history-sheeter who had been externed from Nagpur city and rural areas but was found roaming in the jurisdiction late at night, allegedly with criminal intent.
In the early hours of Friday, April 25, around 12:40 am, a police team from Sakkardara Police Station was patrolling the area to check for known criminals. Acting on a tip-off, the team rushed to Singada Market, where a suspicious man began fleeing upon spotting the police. He was chased and detained by the patrol unit.
The accused identified himself as Arpit Ramu Zhade (23), a resident of Sheetla Mata Mandir, Budhwar Bazar, Somwaripeth, Sakkardara. Upon checking his criminal record, it was found that he had been externed for one year from both city and rural limits of Nagpur by order no. 11/2024 issued on November 7, 2024, by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 4.
Since he was found within the restricted area without permission and allegedly intending to commit a crime, Sakkardara Police registered an offence under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The case has been filed by PSI Gangadhar Dahilkar, and the accused has been placed under arrest.
