Nagpur: In a significant addition to the city’s cultural and defence heritage, the Air Force Museum at Vayusena Nagar, was officially inaugurated on Friday, April 25, 2025, by Air Marshal Vijay Kumar Garg, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Maintenance Command.

The museum, established under the aegis of the Indian Air Force’s Maintenance Command, offers a detailed glimpse into the evolution and achievements of Indian military aviation. It aims to preserve the history of the Indian Air Force (IAF) while also serving as an educational and commemorative platform for visitors.

A major attraction at the museum’s entrance includes iconic defence equipment such as the Mi-8 helicopter, MiG-21 fighter aircraft, and Pichora missile. Inside, the museum is divided into several themed sections — including a historical gallery of the IAF, an audiovisual display area, equipment and weapon sections, and more.

One of the highlights of the museum is the Flight Simulator zone, which provides visitors with an immersive experience of fighter aircraft flying.

The Air Force Museum will remain open to the public every day except Tuesdays and gazetted holidays. Visiting hours are scheduled from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

With its interactive and informative exhibits, the museum is expected to serve as a valuable resource for students, researchers, defence enthusiasts, and the general public interested in the legacy and contributions of the Indian Air Force.
