Nagpur: The NDPS team of Nagpur Crime Branch apprehended two individuals and seized MD drugs, a car, and a country-made pistol during an operation in Nandanvan area here, on Monday, November 18. The operation, was conducted in Gharakul Complex area of Venkatesh Nagar, between 3:45 am and 7:15 am.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Raju Giri alias Dupendra Chaman Girigosavi (37), a resident of Bandhu Nagar, Zingabai Takli, Mankapur, and Sahil Mahesh Solanke (28), a resident of Gharakul Complex, Venkatesh Nagar, Nagpur. A third accused, Bhavik Nivrutti Mahajan (26), a resident of Om Nagar, Sakkardara Chowk, was initially on the run but was later apprehended.

Acting on specific intelligence about the sale of MD Mephedrone powder, the NDPS team laid a trap at the specified location. During the operation, the team seized 59 grams of MD powder, a country-made pistol, three mobile phones, and a car, with the total value of the seized items amounting to ₹12,10,000.

The police have registered a case under Sections 8(c), 22(c), and 29 of the NDPS Act, along with Sections 3, 25 of the Arms Act, and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. Further investigations are underway to determine the network and operations of the accused.
