Focus on Public Safety During Festivities
Police sources said that Holi often witnesses an increase in reckless driving, triple-seat riding by youths, and heavy vehicles entering restricted zones. To prevent untoward incidents, strict enforcement measures were implemented across all major traffic divisions.
The action, supervised by DCP Traffic Lohit Matani, aimed to send a strong message against traffic indiscipline and ensure that festival celebrations did not lead to road mishaps.
Authorities have appealed to citizens to adhere to traffic norms and cooperate with enforcement agencies to maintain safety on city roads.
Further drives are expected in the coming weeks as part of continued efforts to improve road discipline in Nagpur.
