Nagpur: A major theft occurred at Padam Jewellers in Tehsil area, where ornaments worth ₹9.22 lakh and ₹20,000 in cash were stolen in broad daylight.

The incident took place on April 3 between 3:10 PM and 3:20 PM when the shop owner, Abhishek Shailesh Modh (37), stepped away to the restroom after locking the drawer and the main glass door. On returning, he noticed a woman leaving the shop. When questioned, she claimed she would return later.

Suspicious of her behavior, Modh checked the jewellery display and found everything intact. However, upon opening the drawer, he discovered that cash and multiple gold and silver items including rings, pendants, chains, bangles, and anklets were missing.

Based on his complaint, Tehsil Police have registered a case under BNS Section 305 and are investigating the matter further.
