Nagpur: In a major theft incident, unidentified thieves stole an ATM machine containing ₹7.56 lakh in cash from the Punjab National Bank located at Mankapur Chowk. The total value of the stolen ATM machine and cash is estimated to be around ₹9.56 lakh. The theft occurred around 4:12 am on April 4, 2025.
According to the complaint filed by Chhagan Pilaji Karwade (52), the branch manager of Punjab National Bank and a resident of Vishram Nagar, Kapil Nagar, the thieves used unknown tools to uproot the ATM machine.
CCTV footage revealed that three masked individuals broke the ceiling lights, sprayed black paint on the CCTV cameras, and carried out the theft with precision.
Based on the complaint, Mankapur Police have registered a case under Sections 305 and 3(5) of the BNS. Further investigations are on.
