Youth Caught with Deadly Weapon in Nagpur’s Ganga-Jamuna Area

Nagpur: Lakadganj Police apprehended a 26-year-old man from the Ganga Jamuna locality for illegally carrying a deadly weapon with the suspected intention of committing a serious crime. 


The accused has been identified as Kasif Ansari alias Salman Ansari alias “Teen Paanch,” son of Rehman Ansari, and a resident of Mominpura, Kabristan Road, Tehsil, Nagpur.


The incident took place around 3:40 pm on April 4, 2025, when the Lakadganj Police team was patrolling the area. Acting on a tip-off that a man was brandishing a weapon near Bangde Galli in Ganga Jamuna locality, the team rushed to the spot. Upon noticing the police, the suspect tried to flee but was chased down and detained.


During a search conducted in the presence of witnesses, a sharp iron knife worth approximately ₹200 was recovered from the accused. Preliminary investigation suggests that he was carrying the weapon with criminal intent, violating legal prohibitions.


A case has been registered against him under Section 4/25 of the Indian Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
