Nagpur Reports Three Murders in 24-Hours Ahead of New Year 2025

Nagpur: The Second Capital of the State witnessed a chilling crime spree as three murders were reported within 24 hours, ahead of the New Year here, on Sunday, December 29.


First incident reported in Jaripatka, at approximately 2:45 pm, Ramesh Laxman Shinde (68), a resident of Christian Cemetery, CMPDI Road, Jaripatka, was fatally attacked near Line No. 4, Christian Cemetery, within Jaripatka police jurisdiction. The accused, identified as Anon Mathusheel Pyareji (39), a resident of Navi Vasti, Mangalwari Bazar, Sadar, Nagpur, assaulted Shinde with an iron knife, aiming at his throat for reasons yet unknown.


The victim was rushed to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival. Based on a complaint filed by Rita Ericswami Paul (38), also a resident of Christian Cemetery, Jaripatka police registered a case under Section 103(1) of the BNS. The accused has been apprehended, and further investigations are underway.


Later that evening, between 10:30 pm and 10:45 pm, Ravi Rajeshrathor (35) and his brother Deepak Rajeshrathor (40), residents of Bhawani Nagar, near Datt Mandir, Pardi, were attacked and killed by three suspects near Yadgar Chowk, Gandhi Bagh, Tehsil police jurisdiction.


The accused, identified as Badansingh Ramgopal Rathor alias Mama (45), his son Abhishek Rathor, and another individual, Sonu Rathor, all residents of Chhoti Khadan, Hansapuri, conspired over a financial dispute. They engaged in a heated argument with the victims near Mama’s pan kiosk before fatally stabbing them with iron knives.


Additionally, the assailants attempted to kill Shubham Shekhar Barskar (32), a friend of the victims and a resident of Bhawani Mandir, Pardi, by charging at him with a knife.


A case has been registered in this connection.
