Nagpur: The Crime Branch Unit 5 booked a man involved in black marketing tickets for the much-anticipated India vs England One Day International (ODI) match at VCA Jamtha Stadium on February 6. The operation was carried out on Tuesday, February, following a tip-off received during police patrolling in the Mankapur area.
According to police, the accused, identified as Rahul Dashrath Mohadikar (34), a resident of Trimurti Nagar, was caught near Pagalkhana Square while illegally selling match tickets at inflated rates. A search conducted in his presence revealed six tickets for the February 6 match, valued at Rs 10,000, and a mobile phone, totaling Rs 20,000 in seized property.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Rahul Maknikar confirmed that a case has been registered at Mankapur Police Station under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act.
The accused and the seized materials have been handed over to the Mankapur Police for further investigation.
