Nagpur: A woman was brutally assaulted by three men in Imamwada area on Friday November 29, between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. The victim, 49-year-old Surekha Padmakar Sawant, was standing outside her house near Vakeelpeth and Zade Cycle
Stores when the incident occurred.
The accused, identified as 22-year-old Abhishek Banduji Channode from Hazarwadi, along with his associates Ansh Kalambe and Chetan Bhandarkar, arrived at the location and threatened the victim
with a sharp weapon and a wooden stick.
They asked the woman about her son, Shubham, and when she did not respond, they attacked her. The assailants struck her on the hands and body with the wooden stick, causing severe injuries.
The police were immediately alerted, and a team from Imamwada police station rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, Abhishek Channode attempted to attack the cops with a sharp weapon, but he was quickly apprehended.
A case was registered based on the victim's complaint, and Abhishek Channode was arrested. The police have charged the accused under various sections of the BNS further investigation is on.
