Vehicle Theft Case Solved, Two Accused Arrested with Stolen Bike and Sharp Weapon

Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, the Crime Branch Unit 5 of Nagpur City Police solved a vehicle theft case and arrested two accused from the Pachpaoli area of Nagpur. Police recovered a stolen motorcycle, a sharp knife, and a mobile phone collectively valued at Rs 66,000.


Hero Splendor Bike Stolen from Kotwali Area

According to police officials, complainant Raj Uday Marve, 21, a resident of Ganesh Nagar, Bhagat Colony near Buddha Vihar in Nagpur, had parked his black Hero Splendor motorcycle (MH-49-BY-4739) outside his residence on the night of April 17, 2026.


When he returned the next morning, the bike worth approximately Rs 50,000 was missing. Following his complaint, Kotwali Police Station registered a case against unidentified thieves under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).


Crime Branch Receives Secret Information

During the parallel investigation, officers of Crime Branch Unit 5 received confidential information that two suspicious men armed with weapons were waiting in a lane near Gamdur Bar in the Pachpaoli police station limits.


Acting swiftly, police raided the area and detained the suspects, who were found sitting suspiciously on a motorcycle.


The accused were identified as:

  • Mohammad Raza alias Majit Ansari, 23
  • Maysar Jamal Ansari, 25

Both are residents of Teka Nayi Basti, Pachpaoli, Nagpur.


Stolen Bike, Knife, and Mobile Phone Recovered

During the search conducted in the presence of witnesses, police recovered a sharp iron knife worth Rs 1,000 from the motorcycle’s storage compartment.

Upon interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to stealing the Hero Splendor motorcycle from the Kotwali area in a planned conspiracy.


Police seized:

  • Stolen Hero Splendor motorcycle
  • Sharp iron knife
  • Redmi mobile phone


The total value of the recovered property is estimated at Rs 66,000.

The accused have been handed over to Pachpaoli Police Station for further legal action, and investigation is ongoing.


The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Rahul Maknikar, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhijeet Patil by Police Inspector Vinayak Golhe and his team.
