Nagpur: A 48-year-old man died in a tragic hit-and-run accident on the Nagpur-Bhandara Highway under the jurisdiction of Pardi Police Station.

Victim Found Unconscious Near Hari Dhaba

The incident occurred around 2:00 AM on May 11, 2026, when police personnel on night patrol near Kapasi Agency received information from alert citizens about an injured man lying unconscious near Hari Dhaba on the roadside.

Police rushed to the spot and found the victim critically injured and unconscious.

The deceased was identified as:

• Virendra Rajbhan Kushwaha, 48

A resident of Gulmohar Nagar, Kalamna, Nagpur.

Unknown Vehicle Driver Booked

Preliminary investigation suggests that an unidentified vehicle driver was speeding recklessly and hit the victim before fleeing the scene without offering assistance.

The injured man was immediately shifted to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination.

Based on the complaint filed by police constable Dheeraj Pali, Sachin Thakre registered a case against the unidentified driver under Sections 106(1) and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Further investigation is underway to identify the accused vehicle and driver.
