Kamptee Police Arrest Externed Criminal Violating Externment Order

Nagpur: In another major action, Old Kamptee Police Station arrested an externed criminal for violating his externment order in Nagpur district.


Accused Tried to Escape After Spotting Police

On May 10, 2026, between 8:15 PM and 8:45 PM, police officers from the Old Kamptee Police Station were conducting routine crime patrols near Imlibagh, close to Kaleem Kabadi’s shop in Kamptee.


During the patrol, police noticed a suspicious man attempting to flee after spotting the officers. After a brief chase, the suspect was detained.

The accused was identified as:

  • Mohammad Shahid Ansari, 45

A resident of Warispura, Lal Madrasa Chowk, Kamptee.


Externment Order Violated

Police verification revealed that the accused had already been externed for six months from Nagpur city and several rural police station jurisdictions, including:

  • Parseoni
  • Khapa
  • Saoner
  • Kalmeshwar
  • Kanhan
  • Mouda
  • Kuhi


The externment order was issued on April 22, 2026, by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 6.


Police stated that the accused was found within prohibited limits without official permission and was allegedly roaming with criminal intent.


A case under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act has been registered, and further investigation is underway.


The action was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Sandeep Pakhale, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ankush Khedkar, and Senior Police Inspector Prashant Jumde.
