Nagpur: Kapil Nagar Police arrested two men for illegal refilling of domestic LPG gas into commercial cylinders, exposing a black-marketing racket involving unauthorized LPG transfer.
At around 3:40 pm on Monday, April 7, based on a tip-off, a police team raided Plot No. 49, near Deepak Tyre Chowk on Nari Road. Two accused — Mohansingh Jagdishsingh (24), and Vishnukumar Kuldeepsingh Rehar (22), both natives of Dholpur, Rajasthan, currently residing as tenants in Harjinder Singh’s house at the same location — were caught red-handed transferring gas from domestic HP cylinders to blue-colored commercial ones using nozzles.
On further interrogation, it was revealed that both were working as distributors for a domestic gas agency in Civil Lines and were illicitly transferring 1-2 kg of gas from each domestic cylinder to commercial ones for personal profit.
Police seized 17 HP gas cylinders, 7 Bharat gas cylinders, 1 Indane commercial cylinder, 2 transfer nozzles, and 1 electric weighing scale, amounting to a total value of Rs 3,76,700.
A case has been registered under BNS Section 287, Sections 3 and 7 of the Essential Commodities Act, and Section 3 of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order. Further investigations are on.
