RPF Nagpur Division Delivers Stellar Performance: 207 Children Rescued, 444 kg Ganja Seized, 464 Lost Luggage Items Recovered in a Year

Nagpur: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Nagpur Division has recorded significant achievements across multiple safety and security operations during the financial year 2024–2025, reinforcing its dedication to passenger welfare, crime prevention, and law enforcement on Indian Railways.


Among the major highlights, 207 children (120 boys and 87 girls) were rescued under Operation Nanhe Faristey, a nationwide initiative focused on reuniting missing and runaway children with their families. Under Operation Jeevan Raksha, RPF personnel displayed commendable bravery by saving seven lives in critical situations.


The division also made a strong impact in curbing human trafficking. Under Operation AAHT (Action Against Human Trafficking), RPF teams registered two cases, rescued nine children, and apprehended six traffickers.


In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Operation NARCOS led to the seizure of 444.156 kg of ganja, valued at ₹64.52 lakh, and the arrest of 11 offenders, marking a significant victory in the fight against narcotics.


Efforts to combat illicit liquor distribution under Operation Satark resulted in 64 cases, seizure of 9,857 liquor bottles worth ₹12.40 lakh, and the arrest of 36 individuals. Additionally, during Operation Uplabdh, an anti-touting initiative, 76 cases were registered, with 1,251 railway tickets worth ₹31.46 lakh seized and 88 touts arrested.


Demonstrating its commitment to passenger service, the RPF successfully recovered and returned 464 lost luggage items under Operation Amanat, valued at over ₹94.10 lakh. The division also rescued 51 vulnerable individuals through Operation Dignity and provided critical assistance to a pregnant passenger under Operation Matrishakti.


Further enhancing passenger security, RPF solved 96 theft cases involving stolen belongings, leading to the arrest of 113 suspects. These swift actions underscore the efficiency and vigilance of RPF personnel across Nagpur Division.
