Nagpur: A woman from Nagpur suffered a leg fracture after jumping from a hill to escape a deadly terrorist attack near Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon at the Baisaran meadow, claimed the lives of 26 people, most of whom were tourists.
According to an official statement from the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the woman, identified as Simran Rupchandani, was visiting the tourist destination with her family when the attack occurred. In a desperate attempt to flee, Simran and her family jumped from a nearby hill. During the escape, she sustained a leg fracture.
The CMO confirmed in a social media post on X (formerly Twitter) that Simran was accompanied by two other family members, Garv and Tilak Rupchandani. Fortunately, all three survived the incident and are currently safe.
“The Maharashtra CMO is in touch with the family and has assured that all necessary assistance is being extended to them,” the statement read.
The shocking attack has sparked nationwide outrage and raised concerns over the safety of tourists in conflict-sensitive regions. The state government is closely monitoring the situation and ensuring support for affected families.
