Nagpur: In the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, the Nagpur district administration on Wednesday, April 23, confirmed that no tourists from Nagpur were killed in the incident. However, a family from Nagpur was present in the region at the time of the attack and narrowly escaped harm.
According to official sources, the Rupchandnani family from Nagpur was in the vicinity when the firing began. On hearing gunshots, they leaped from a hillside to escape the danger, during which Simran Rupchandnani sustained minor injuries due to slipping. All three members of the family are reported to be safe and unharmed, apart from the minor injury.
To assist tourists and concerned families, the District Collector’s Office in Nagpur has set up a 24x7 help desk and control room. Citizens can contact the helpline numbers 0712-2562668 and 8860018817 for updates and assistance. So far, the district administration has established contact with around 220 tourists from Nagpur currently in Kashmir.
Officials have confirmed that all tourists are safe and most of them are presently staying in Srinagar. The administration continues to monitor the situation closely and remains in touch with local authorities in Kashmir to ensure the safety of Nagpur residents.
