Nagpur: Imamwada Police have registered a case against a 25-year-old truck helper for stealing a parked truck along with heavy machinery and cash worth over Rs 7 lakh from Great Nag Road area here, on Sunday, April 6.
The complainant, Shashi Bhushan Ravediya (43), resident of Plot No. 15, Great Nag Road, Vishwakarma Rolling, Untkhana, Imamwada, owns an Ashok Leyland truck (MH 49 BZ 7353) driven by Sanjay Banafar and assisted by helper Manish Markam from Mandla, Madhya Pradesh.
According to police sources, around 11:00 pm on April 6, the driver parked the truck outside Vishwakarma Rolling Centre. The accused allegedly took the truck’s keys from the complainant’s shop and drove away with the vehicle. He also stole a hammer machine, grinder machine, and Rs 6,500 in cash from a labourer’s bag, amounting to a total theft of Rs 7,08,500. CCTV footage confirmed the identity of the accused.
Based on the complaint, Imamwada Police have registered a case under Section 306 of the BNS. Imamwada police are investigating the matter and have taken the accused into custody.
